About You: I've been interested in photography on and off for quite a while. My film-based efforts were always dire, so my interest didn't really take off until I got my first digital camera back in 1997 (a terrible 1 megapixel Panasonic thing). I went through a couple of Nikon Coolpix cameras, which were great. When I moved back from California in 2006, I decided to get a digital SLR and join the local photographic club. I'm really glad I did - I've learnt a huge amount since joining HPC and made some great friends. I was lucky enough to get the beginner's award in 2007, so I'm now in the open section with the other sharks... :-)
