I don't claim this to be much good but I thought I'd post it up just to show how hard this sort of stuff is. Spent an hour on Saturday and 2 hours onSunday getting this one shot of the golden eagle at Lomond Shores. Using my Sigma 70-300 on macro setting and manual focus because the autofocus could not keep up with the constant jerky movement of the bird. Experimented with ISO 400 and available light and ISO 100 with fill in flash....this was flash. I've retouched to remove the specular highlights in the eye and on the tongue. Even with f16 dof isn't enought to make tip of the beak sharp.
